Creating Your Account
How to sign up for SeedGovernance and what to expect during registration.
Sign-up methods
You can create a SeedGovernance account using any of the following methods:
- Email and password -- Enter your work email address and choose a strong password. We require at least 10 characters with a mix of uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols.
- Google SSO -- Click "Continue with Google" and authenticate with your Google Workspace or personal Google account. Your name and email are imported automatically.
- Microsoft SSO -- Click "Continue with Microsoft" and authenticate with your Microsoft 365 or Azure AD account. This is the preferred option for organisations already using the Microsoft ecosystem.
Regardless of which method you choose, the rest of the registration process is the same.
What happens during registration
After authenticating, you will be guided through a short setup wizard:
- Company details -- Enter your company name, industry sector, and approximate company size. If you completed the Quick Assessment beforehand, these fields are pre-filled.
- Data residency region -- Choose where your governance data will be stored: EU (Netherlands), Middle East (Dubai), or US (Virginia). This cannot be changed later. See Choosing Your Region for guidance.
- Framework selection -- Activate the compliance frameworks you want to work with. If you took the Quick Assessment, mandatory frameworks are pre-selected. You can adjust this at any time. See Selecting Frameworks for details.
- Invite team members (optional) -- Add colleagues by email address. They will receive an invitation to join your workspace. You can skip this step and invite people later from the Team settings page.
Email verification
If you signed up with email and password, we send a verification email to the address you provided. You must click the verification link within 24 hours to activate your account. Until verified, you can still log in and explore the platform, but you cannot export documents or invite team members.
If you signed up with Google or Microsoft SSO, your email is verified automatically since your identity provider has already confirmed it.
Did not receive the verification email? Check your spam or junk folder. You can also request a new verification email from the banner shown at the top of your dashboard.
14-day free trial
Every new account starts with a 14-day free trial on the Pro plan. During the trial, you have full access to all Pro features:
- Up to 10 active frameworks
- All document templates for your selected frameworks
- Gap analysis dashboards
- Team collaboration with up to 10 members
- Document export in PDF, DOCX, and Markdown formats
- 90-day audit log
- Consultant and auditor access links
No credit card is required to start the trial. You will receive email reminders at 7 days and 2 days before the trial expires.
What happens when the trial ends
When the 14-day trial expires, your account enters a read-only grace period of 7 days. During this period:
- You can log in and view all your content
- You cannot create or edit documents, assessments, or settings
- You cannot invite new team members or share auditor links
- You can subscribe to any paid plan to restore full access immediately
After the grace period, if you have not subscribed, your workspace is archived. Your data is retained for 90 days in case you decide to return. After 90 days, archived workspaces and their data are permanently deleted.
Choosing a plan
When you are ready to subscribe, go to Settings → Billing in your dashboard and choose a plan. See our Pricing page for a full comparison of Starter, Pro, and Enterprise plans, or read the Subscription Plans docs article.
